What to Expect on Lobos Island:
Upon arrival, you’ll be greeted by the statue of Josefina Plá, a renowned Spanish writer and poet born on the island, located next to the Visitor Centre.
Lobos Island is a protected Natural Park, offering visitors a unique landscape of volcanic formations, secluded beaches, and untouched nature. Please note that there are no shops, restaurants, or drinking water sources on the island, so visitors should bring all essentials, including food, water, sunscreen, and appropriate footwear.
Exploring the Island:
El Puertito: A charming former fishing village located to the right of the harbour. It features rustic buildings and a white sandy beach with shallow turquoise waters, ideal for a refreshing dip.
La Concha Beach (La Caleta): Located to the left of the harbour, this crescent-shaped beach is perfect for families and sunbathers. Its calm waters provide a great spot for swimming.
La Caldera Volcano: The island’s highest peak at 127 metres. The hike takes around 1 hour and 30 minutes round trip and rewards hikers with spectacular panoramic views of Fuerteventura and Lanzarote.
Faro de Lobos (Lobos Lighthouse): Located in the northernmost part of the island, this historic lighthouse was once maintained by Josefina Plá’s father. The total walk around the island, including the lighthouse, takes approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes.
Important Reminders:
Lobos Island has limited daily visitor access to protect its fragile ecosystem. Your ticket includes entry management, ensuring compliance with regulations.
Respect the island’s rules: stay on marked trails, avoid disturbing wildlife, and take all waste back with you.
This ferry trip offers an unforgettable opportunity to explore Lobos Island at your own pace, whether you prefer relaxing on the beach, hiking volcanic landscapes, or discovering the island’s rich history.
