Description
The white beaches and emerald waters make Fuerteventura a traveler’s paradise, but there’s more to discover than meets the eye. This volcanic island is home to tremendous marine diversity and has a long history of people coexisting with nature — it’s not surprising Fuerteventura has been declared a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve. Your tour will take you through some historic sites and give you a taste of island life.
Your trip begins in Puerto del Rosario, where you’ll take a car up the northeastern coast towards Corralejo. You’ll watch out the window as the landscape transforms into a desert of stunning white sand. Your guide will entertain you with stories of the past and present of Fuerteventura, as well as the origin of the sands and the island itself.
Your next stop is El Cotillo, where you’ll see the cliffs, beaches, and waves that attract surfers and water sports enthusiasts from around the world.
From here, your tour continues to La Oliva. See the historic Casa de los Coroneles (The House of the Colonels), and a church with historical burials.
Finally, return to Corralejo around 1:30 PM. Before returning to the port, stop at the Dunes of Corralejo and the beach for a swim in the clear blue waters.
