The centre focuses on windsurfing and wingfoiling, with lessons and equipment rental for beginners, improving riders and experienced participants. Stand-up paddleboarding is also available for rental. The range of activities suits visitors looking for an introduction to board sports as well as those wanting time on the water to refine technique, practise freeriding or enjoy faster sessions.
Local conditions vary through the day and across the seasons. The spot usually receives a side-offshore wind, creating flatter water near the beach and a manageable environment for beginners. Mornings generally bring lighter wind, while summer afternoons can become considerably stronger, with wind reaching around 30 knots. These stronger conditions appeal to freeriders, freestylers and riders working on speed or more advanced skills.
Wingfoiling is available for both first sessions and independent riding, with the sheltered nearshore area helping beginners progress without excessive pressure. On lighter-wind days, windfoil equipment offers another option. Winter conditions can occasionally turn onshore and produce waves, adding variety to the usual flat-water character.
Ion Club Costa Calma is suitable for a broad range of wind and water experience, from first-time lessons to equipment rental for confident riders. Kitesurfing is not available at this location because it is not permitted by the local authorities. The centre is therefore specifically oriented towards windsurfing, wingfoiling and stand-up paddleboarding. Its close relationship with the surrounding hotels, beach access and range of session levels make it a convenient base for active days beside the sea.
